Johnnie Ray Parrish, Sr., 68, of Grapevine, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord and Savior at Jefferson Regional Medical Center on January 4, 2020.
Born December 21, 1951 in Pine Bluff, the son of the late Phillip E. and Mary Etta Parrish. He was also preceded in death by a sister Deborah Lowry.
Survivors include sons, Johnnie Ray Parrish Jr., Patrick Parrish and wife, Allison, Brandon Parrish and wife, Melissa. Brothers, Donald, Ronald, and Jerry Parrish and seven grandchildren.
Per Johnnie’s request he will be cremated and there will be no services. The family will have private services at a later date.

Ruby Taylor Davis, 92, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord Friday, January 3, 2020.
She was born July 11, 1927 in Grapevine, Arkansas, to Ernest A. Taylor and Bertice Ross Taylor.
Mrs. Davis had various jobs throughout the years before retiring in 1989 as the secretary and bookkeeper of her husband’s cabinet shop, Davis Cabinets.
She was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. All were welcome in her home and were greeted with open arms and a warm smile. Her love for her family was unconditional and her family was truly blessed to be a part of her life.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of White Hall. She spent many hours sewing outfits that she sent to children in Ghana.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Truman Davis on October 11, 2016. Along with her parents, Mrs. Davis was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Wayne Davis; brother, Owen Taylor; and sister, Kathleen Funderburg.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Davis; grandchildren, Brian (Shelly) Davis, Ryan Davis, Shannon (Shawn) Lester and Amanda Williams; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lester, Jace Williams, Alex Davis, Tristen Davis, Sydni Crisalli, Jordynn Lester, Wesleigh Dardenne and Sunnie Davis; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Davis; sisters, Thelma Plunkett and Evelyn (Harold) Taylor; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Brother Rodney Castleberry and Brother Don Plunkett officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson’s.

Jewel Mae Lawrence Mayer, 97, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, January 4, 2020.
She was born June 5, 1922 in Sulphur Springs, daughter of Stafford “Staff” Lawrence and Mae Ginnett Lawrence.
Mrs. Mayer was reared and received her early education in Sulphur Springs and Watson Chapel. She worked for years on the family farm. Mrs. Mayer was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Charles Mayer, whom she married January 22, 1944 in Pine Bluff; her parents; two daughters, Judy Masters and Nancy Agnes Mayer (infant); two brothers, Grover and W.G. Lawrence; and sister, Venus Funderburg.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony and Lawrence Mayer of Pine Bluff.
