Betty Jo Harkins Scifres, 78, of Pine Bluff passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, at Trinity Village Medical Center after a 15-month courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was Catholic.
Born July 3, 1941, in Dermott, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late William Monroe Harkins and Margaret Mahfouz Harkins. She graduated from Dermott High School in 1959. In 1965, she married Don (Sy) Scifres, Sr. and they spent 30 years together until his death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her 4 brothers- Billy, Tom, Gary and Johnny Harkins.
She worked for Dillard’s Department Store in Pine Bluff as the store secretary for 15 years before retiring in 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Scifres Pearce and husband Gary of Pine Bluff and her son, Donald Scifres, Jr. and his wife Chastity of Maumelle. She leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Gretchen Pearce of Savannah and Cole Scifres of Maumelle; 2 sisters, Margaret Harkins Heuston of Little Rock and Essie Mae Harkins Erwin of Selma; and 1 sister in law Janine Harkins of Pine Bluff.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral home from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A graveside service with Father Joseph Marconi will be in the Dermott cemetery on Monday, January 13, 2020, at 11:00 a.m.

Harley David Herron, age 73, of Pine Bluff, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020.
Born April 21, 1946, at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Harley David Herron, Sr. and Mary B. Wallace and was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School.
Mr. Herron worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad for 19 years. For the past 20 years he was a master electrician at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Shannon Road Baptist Church.
Also predeceasing him are two infant sons.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila May Herron, whom he married on November 30, 1967; two sons, Harley C. Herron (Pamela) of Pine Bluff and David C. Herron of Pine Bluff; his grandchildren, Mack Olsen (Ember) of Lawton, OK, Haley Appleget, Halie Herron, and Harley David Herron, II, all of Pine Bluff; and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Olsen of Lawton, OK.
The funeral service will be Monday, January 13, 2020, 10:30 a.m. at Shannon Road Baptist Church with Brother Josh Blevins officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

Mrs. Lillian Fowler passed away Thursday, January 9, 2019, at The Villages of General Baptist Health Care West. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the P.K. Miller Mortuary.
