Betty C. Burt Spillyards, 94, of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Monday, March 2, 2020 at Methodist Hospice in Memphis.
She was born June 21, 1925 in Champaign, Illinois, daughter of Clarence Edward Burt and Evelyn Elizabeth Shrider Burt.
Mrs. Spillyards was reared and received her early education in Sidney, Illinois, graduating from Sidney High School.
After moving to Arkansas, she worked for The Doctor’s Clinic and Jefferson Regional Medical Center for many years as a medical transcriptionist. She was known for her sign language skills. Mrs. Spillyards would be called throughout the hospital when needed to help patients and hospital personnel communicate when needed.
While living in Pine Bluff, Mrs. Spillyards was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She moved to North Little Rock in 1996 and moved her membership to Levy Baptist Church in North Little Rock.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Leroy Spillyards; son, Kenneth Spillyards; daughter, Karen May; and her parents.
Survivors include her son, Roger Spillyards of Memphis, Tennessee; brother, Robert Burt; sister, Doris Werts; five grandchildren, Greg Spillyards, Brad May, Susanne May, Michael Spillyards and Melody Gruene; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2020 at Graceland Cemetery with Dr. Don Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m., Friday at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors in Pine Bluff.

Debra “Debbie” Renee’ Stover Vereen, 62, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2020.
She was born October 5, 1957, in Warren, to Charles and Carolyn Harrison Stover.
She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1976. She was selected as the Arkansas State Girl of the Year during the 1991 Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Convention.
Debbie had worked at Simmons Bank for 22 years, retiring from the Data Processing Department as a Central Information File Coordinator.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie “Coach” Vereen, Sr., whom she married on July 14, 1986; her father, Charles E. Stover; her grandparents, Reverend Roba Harrison (Pauline) and Bruce Stover (Gladys).
Survivors include her son, Brock Stover of Pine Bluff, her mother, Carolyn Harrison Stover of Pine Bluff; brother, Jeff Stover (Theresa) of Sheridan, step-sons, Chuck (Ashlea) Vereen of North Little Rock, Chris (Angela) Vereen of Star City; five step-grandchildren; niece, Lacey Cox (Tyler) of White Hall; nephew, Chad Stover of Washington D. C.; great nephews, Hoyt and Grant Cox and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m., Robinson & Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel, Friday, March 6, 2020, 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Wilma DeFoggi, (Debbie’s aunt) officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.

Mr. Kristian Brian Matlock, 42, of Pine Bluff passed away February 24, 2020. He was born on November 17, 1977 in Pine Bluff to Henry A. Matlock, Sr. and the late Jeannie Matlock. He was preceded in death by one brother Gregory Matlock.
Survivors include his father, a daughter Aubrey Matlock of Pine Bluff, one brother Henry Matlock, Jr. of Little Rock and one sister Rosalyn Watts of North Little Rock.
