Mrs. Verla Mae Pennington, 91, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Funeral services 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2020, at Faith Presbyterian Church Pine Bluff, AR, by Pastor Harlis Wright. Interment in Bellwood Cemetery Pine Bluff, AR, by Brown Funeral Home. Wanda Irvin


Wanda Irvin, 95, of Sheridan (formerly of Pine Bluff), joined her husband in heaven on February 29, 2020.


Visitation will be on March 5, 2020, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Home in Pine Bluff. Funeral service will be March 6, 2020, 2:00 pm, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff.


She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She leaves the legacy she desired — a family that loved her dearly and admired her greatly, and will miss her presence and wisdom in the years to come.

Belva Jones


Belva Jean Anderson Jones, age 81, of Maysville, GA, went home to Heaven on Sunday, March 1, 2020. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family and loved ones.


Mrs. Jones was born in Gurdon, AR, to the late Loyd and Ruth Norton Anderson. She was a lover of education and an avid reader, a faithful and loving wife and mother, and a dedicated servant of Christ. She married Clyde Jones, the love of her life, on June 15, 1957. Together, they served the Lord in ministry for over 60 years. Mrs. Jones touched the lives of many people with her kindness and compassion. For many years, she shared her love of reading with students in the library of Belair Middle School in Pine Bluff, AR; and she shared her faith in Jesus with hundreds of children in the Sunday School classes she taught.


She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Clyde D. Jones of Maysville, GA; daughters, Leslie Vail (Dickie) of Maysville, GA; Linda Miller (Billy) of Corinth, MS; and Susan Harris (Tom) of White Hall, AR; son, Stephen Jones (Tawni) of Gainesville, GA; brothers, Wayne Anderson of Arkadelphia, AR; Kenneth Anderson and Edward Anderson, both of Gurdon, AR; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, March 4, at Gillsville Baptist Church in Gillsville, GA, with Rev. Shannon Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM.
