Ira “Van” Brown II, 70 of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Pine Bluff, passed away on Monday June 8, 2020.
He was born March 16, 1950 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Ira Van Brown and Minnie (Searcy) Brown.
Van was a graduate of Watson Chapel High School, class of 1968. He was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith. During his career, Van worked at Cummins Prison, first as a guard and later as the manager of the prison’s hog lot, which he always said was one of his favorite jobs. He joined the Jefferson County Sheriffs Mounted Patrol Unit in Pine Bluff in 1984 and was an auxiliary deputy for 10 years. He also worked for Cotton Belt, O.B. Tullous Auto Parts and various parts departments throughout his career. In 2013, he retired from AAR in Hot Springs.
Van was a member of Hudgins Creek Deer Club for many years, where he enjoyed the fellowship of family and friends just as much as he enjoyed deer hunting. He also enjoyed fishing, working on his family genealogy and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Amy Brown Morgan and Caitlin Brown, who meant the world to him and he loved them with all his heart; a brother, Julian Welch (Wanda); a sister, Ceilia McGehee (Vic); two grandchildren Kelsey Woodard and Emily Brown; five great-grandchildren; one niece Carman Conner; three nephews Scott McGehee, Steven McGehee and Tracy Welch.
His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at The Pines Nursing Home in Hot Springs for taking care of Van for the past few years and the nurses at Arkansas Hospice for caring for Van during his last journey on this earth.

Marjorie V. Pilant, age 95, of Pine Bluff, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020. Born April 3, 1925 at Brinkley, AR, she was a daughter of the late Teddy Baker and Birdie Hoke Holland. She graduated from Brinkley High School.
A resident of Pine Bluff since 1947, Mrs. Pilant was an active member of Lakeside United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Wedding Ring Sunday School Class and served as chairman of the Altar Guild for many years.
She married Charles W. Pilant on May 10, 1947 at Pine Bluff, He predeceased her on December 15, 1986. She was also predeceased by a sister, Teddie Johnston.
Marjorie is survived by many loving friends.

Lucy Paralee Wilson, 83, of White Hall, died Wednesday, June 9, 2020, at her home. She was born December 3, 1936, in Dyess, AR, to Laurence Lewis and Susan Tennessee Rowton Slaughter. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with the family business, Wilson Septic Tank Service, and was a member of First Baptist Church, White Hall. She was actively involved in the Bible study group at her church, and was remembered by her family as an early riser who could be found reading her Bible and enjoying a cup of coffee. She always enjoyed reading about things of interest to her, and had developed an interest in quilting until arthritis prevented her from doing it. She loved animals, especially her dog, Ladybug, and her cats, PC and Sunshine. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed spending time with each of them.
She was preceded in death by three children, James Lee Wilson, Larry Ellender Wilson, and Pamela Coleen Wilson, as well as 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Wilson; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Cassandra Wilson; two daughters, Patricia Wilson Hulett and Rebecca Wilson Fowler; six grandchildren, Timothy Jason Burns, Tina Coleen Greene, Trevor Wade Hulett, Destin O’Dell Fowler, Larry Adam Wilson, and Tiffany Ann Wilson; six great-grandchildren, Timothy Christian Greene, Tori Christina Greene, Zane Riley Burns, Mackenzie Carlene Burns, Bryan Chase Wilson, and Bryan Karter Wilson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 15, 2020, at First Baptist Church, White Hall, with the Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Private burial will be in White Hall Methodist Cemetery.
Those wishing to pay their respects may view from 2:00-4:00 P.M. Saturday, or visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday at Robinson Fuller, White Hall Chapel. Kenneth James McDaniel, 47, of Pine Bluff, died June 12, 2020. Born July 23, 1972 in Dumas, Arkansas. Kenneth was a Baptist and employed by Steve Pharr Farms.
Survivors are his wife Tina McDaniel, Pine Bluff, Arkansas; parents Kenneth and Doris McDaniel and two sons, Bo and Peyton McDaniel and sister, Annette Spivey of all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
