Dorthy Grace Williams, 96, of Pine Bluff, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Gardner


Nursing Center in Star City.


Born March 31, 1918, in Ouachita County, Arkansas; she was a daughter of the late John and


Rosalee Everett Grace. As a child she lived in Ouachita County and then settling in Jefferson


County in the Pine Bluff area.


In 1942, she married Harlon Williams. Together they had three boys and shared over fifty –three


years of life, love and memories, until his death in 1995. Mrs. Williams was a loving and devoted


wife, mother and homemaker, spending most of her adulthood making a home for her husband


and sons.


During World War II, she worked for the Arkansas Ordnance Plant in Jacksonville, where she,


alongside many other women, helped assemble detonators, fuses, primers and bombs. She later


worked at Ben Pearson Company.


Mr. Williams was a faithful member of First Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Rene Northum and Johnnie


Maynard; and four brothers, J.T., Ed, and Arlis Grace, and an infant brother.


She is survived by her three sons, Jerry Williams and Glenn Williams, both of Pine Bluff, and Dale


Williams, of Mt. View; and one grandson, Bradley Williams, of Little Rock.


Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Memorial Park Cemetery


with Reverend Robert Cossey officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son. The family will receive friends
