Isaiah 1:2-3: “Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O Earth! For the Lord has spoken: ‘I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me; the ox knows its owner and the donkey its master’s crib; but Israel (could be the U.S.A.) does not consider.”
America was founded on the Word of God and chosen by God to become a great nation in carrying the good news around the world. What has happened to a great chosen nation as the USA? The answer is fear, sin and pleasure. Fear has caused preachers to stop obeying God because of what man says.
Isaiah 1:1-7: “Alas, a sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked to anger the Holy one of Israel, they have turned away backward. Why should you be stricken again? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faints. From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it, but wounds and bruises and putrefying sores; they have not been closed or bound up or soothed with ointment.
“Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire; strangers devour your land in your presence; and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.”
Reading that passage of scripture spoken by the prophet Isaiah, you would think God is speaking to our nation, the USA not Israel.
Israel had forsaken their God who brought them from bondage to a land flowing with milk and honey. After all of what God had done for them, they turned their backs to God and refused to obey and live in a land of great prosperity.
Psalm 33:12 says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”
Listen to the prophet Isaiah in 56:10-12: “His watchmen are blind, they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping lying down, loving to slumber.
“Yes, they are greedy dogs which never have enough. And they are shepherds who cannot understand; they all look to their own way, everyone for his own gain, from his own territory. ‘Come,’ one says, ‘I will bring wine, and we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink; tomorrow will be as today, and much more abundant.”
Fear, pleasure and the sin of ignorance of God’s word has crippled and made the church of no affect in our city and nation. Proverbs 14:34 says, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach (discredit) to any people.”
Look what is happening in our great nation:
The refusal to believe and receive Jesus as God’s Son and Savior.
The failure to accept Israel as the land God gave to the Jewish people.
The fear of preaching the truth. That same sex marriage, homosexuality, and transgender is a lie from hell. God created a man and woman. Male and female. No in between.
Trust and confidence in a politician or political party rather than almighty God.
Accepting euthanasia and abortion. Legalized murder.
Laws supporting the use of marijuana for recreational purpose and pleasure.
Congregations spending millions and millions of dollars for very seldom used buildings, selling dinners, fashion shows, recreation for young people, and the Word of God for Sunday only.
Legalized gambling in order to provide jobs and improve infrastructure. What a joke!
The refusal to protect the border from illegal immigrants.
The establishment of sanctuary cities and states to protect criminals from prosecution.
Politicians receiving millions of dollars to campaign for an office, while the elderly, poor, unemployed, and children are neglected.
Church buildings closed six days every week. No prayer, no Bible teaching.
Children having babies. Babies growing up with no daddy in sight. Mind altering drugs to control young children.
Anarchy in every state of this great nation. No one seems to care.
Wake up Pine Bluff and America! I am not afraid to tell you the truth. They say the truth hurts. The truth only hurts the guilty. I will close with this. Read II Chronicles 7:14 and do it!
