Several area residents attended the 44th annual convention of the Arkansas State Employees Association in Little Rock Aug. 17 and 18.

Eloise Bates of Pine Bluff, a retired state employee and president of the associationís Jefferson County chapter, was a voting delegate.

Jackie Carter of Pine Bluff, an employee with the Department of Human Services, was elected by the chapter as its second primary delegate.

Becky Shepherd of Humphrey, who works with the Office of Child Support Enforcement, was an alternate delegate.

Ramona Green of Pine Bluff, an employee of the Department of Correction, attended as a voting director, serving as District 4 director on the ASEA board.

Delegates meet to set the associationís policy for the upcoming year.
