GLENDALE Danial Jack Stewart, 76, of Glendale, died Monday, August 20, 2012. He was born June 2, 1936 in Checotah, Okla. to the late Lee Roy and Nora Angeline Jamison Stewart. He graduated from Checotah High School, then joined the U.S. Air Force. He completed his basic training in San Antonio, Texas. His home base was in Rome, N.Y. and he was assigned to communications. He served abroad in Okinawa and Newfoundland and also served in several of the states. His last tour of duty was at Vandenburg Air Force Base in Lompoc, Calif., and was honorably discharged on August 1, 1958. He was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at Palmyra and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired from International Paper in 1997after years of service. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Ben Stewart, Ken Stewart, Roy Stewart; and a grandson, Brandon Stewart. Survivors include his wife, Zelpha Jean Rauls Stewart of Glendale; son, Wayne Stewart of Glendale; four sisters, Lucille Rauls of Herbine, Edith Jones and husband Jack of Sand Springs, Okla., Clara July, Faye Storm, both of Checotah, Okla.; two grandchildren, Daniel Wayne Stewart Jr., Kandall Stewart; brother-in-law, Raymond and Caroline Rauls; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra. Bro. John Marlar, Bro. Calvin Terry and Bro. Jimmie Tooke will officiate. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Glendale. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 p.m. until funeral time at the church.
