MURRAY, Kentucky. – The University of Arkansas At Pine Bluff men’s golf team finished seventh out of 17 teams in the fall season-opening Murray State Invitational at the Miller Memorial Golf Course.

UAPB shot sub-300 rounds in the 54-hole event, with scores of 287, 294 and 298 to finish with a three-round total of 879 behind host Murray State, Tennessee-Martin, Southern Illinois A & B teams, Tennessee State, and IUPUI. The Golden Lions finished ahead of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Evansville, Murray State B team, John A. Logan College, Eastern Illinois, Southern Indiana, Bethel (TN) A team, Chicago State, Alabama A&M, and Bethel (TN) B team.

Tristan Maharaj’s 219 set the pace for UAPB. Highlighted by an opening-round three-under par 69, he shot 78 and even par 72 in the final two rounds. George Faulkner shot 222 (72-73-77), one shot ahead of Grayson Martin’s 223 (73-71-79). Niklas Frimodig (224: 77-73-74), and Justin Lee (225 (73-77-75) completed the scoring for the Golden Lions.

UAPB returns to action Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawk Invitational.
