White Hall schools lost power for about one hour Tuesday, allowing some students to leave for the day.

White Hall Assistant Superintendent in Charge of Facilities Bill Mitchell said the outage started around 11:15 a.m. and impacted White Hall High School, White Hall Middle School, Taylor Elementary School and Moody Elementary School.

"During the outage we allowed students to go home for the day," Mitchell said.

There were no immediate word as to how many students left early.

"We were in the dark for about an hour," Mitchell said. "The power has been restored and we are having a regular day."

Many students were eating lunch during the outage, Mitchell said.

White Hall has since resumed its normal schedule and will remain in session until its regular dismissal. As of 1:15 p.m., the plan was to proceed with after-school sports activities as normal, Mitchell said.
